Introduction to Year of The Woman

We believe the roadmap, utility, and future worth of an NFT should all be linked to the artist. Yasmin is a full-time artist and will be for life. This project will always be linked to her career and the milestones she reaches as an artist. This ensures she will never stop working on this project. Our roadmap is otherwise based on two core principles – bridging the gap between NFT art and Physical art (since, unlike many NFTs, YOTW art by Yasmin Shima is worthy of being hung on display anywhere), and contributing back to the community around us. This includes raising awareness and exposure for other artists in the same way YOTW has done for Yasmin, and by ongoing donations to important organizations in line with our female-based project.
Future Projects
Many talented artists get trapped in a cycle where their talent is not seen or recognized. Yasmin understands that struggle, and what it’s like to finally get exposure and recognition.
YOTW will onboard female artists from Australia, and eventually around the world. Yasmin will collaborate with them (either in production or on the actual art) to create their own first NFT collections. Similar to a Record Label, we will produce them and give their collections the exposure they deserve, setting those artists up with their own brand and platform in Web3. Their work will be featured by our project, on our platforms and in our Metaverse Art Gallery – all giving exposure and recognition to these artists.
YOTW holders will share in these artists’ success by getting exclusive access to all of these collections through free mints or sales. Holders will accumulate all the genesis collections from new female artists entering the space, while simultaneously supporting those artists to make their dreams come true.
Yasmin has already selected three female artists from around Australia who she will work with on art collaborations after the launch of YOTW. They will be named in due course.
Onboarding Indigeneous Artists
In a similar way to the above collections, we will also focus on Indigenous Australian artists. We are in discussions with Aboriginal community members and leaders in Australia. We will be assisting those communities and artists to have their art put in our gallery, and onto the blockchain so that the world can share in their amazing talent, and so that they can earn profits. All profits from those sales will go to the artist and communities, YOTW will take 0%.
Yasmin World Tour
After the collection reaches a certain milestone (ie 1k eth traded) Yasmin will depart for her Year of the Woman world tour. We will poll the holders to ascertain which cities have the most, and Yasmin will visit those cities for all-day events. In the day, she will hold art classes for children and teenagers to attend for free, where she will help them to learn skills in both physical and digital art.
Once the lessons are over, the event will transition to only YOTW holders being permitted and there will be a party with the holders and Yasmin. Yasmin will paint a large piece of art in front of the attendees, with suggestions and input from everyone attending. After the event, that piece will be minted as an NFT and fractionalized equally between all the attending YOTW holders. These NFTs will be part of an exclusive collection that only includes NFTs from these events.
The physical painting which matches the NFT will be sold to an attending holder with 100% of the sale being donated to a charity in that city which has a focus on females or artists.
About Yasmin Shima

Yasmin Shima is an artist and art teacher living in Bondi Beach, Sydney Australia. She has painted since she was a child growing up in a family of artists, with her first self-portrait being done at age 18.
She is drawn to painting woman for their beauty, sensuality, strength, and grace. Yasmin believes woman encapsulate romantic, empowered energy and loves expressing that in the way the subject carries themselves.
Giving Back to the Community
On the day of the mint – International Women’s Day – 5% of all profit from the mint will be donated to Women’s Refuge Centres, and Centres for Victims of Domestic Violence throughout Australia. YOTW will continue to give 5% of all profits to these organizations in perpetuity.
Team Expansion
Following the launch, the team will be expanded to add a range of personnel including additional Business Development Managers, Brand Ambassadors, and Moderators to ensure all holders have customer service at all hours, and so that the business development remains a priority while Yasmin can focus on her passion, the art.
Phsyical Versions
Holders will have the ability to obtain their NFT in physical form in various ways. These will include hand paintings on canvas by Yasmin, or large prints signed by Yasmin, as well as other forms. All can be sent anywhere in the world. Original minters of the project will be given priority when it comes to wait times. It obviously takes time for Yasmin to complete quality hand paintings. These will be picked from the collection and produced continuously from the mint onwards so that all holders will get an opportunity to be selected in the various releases, provided they hold their NFT.
Metaverse Gallery
Year of the Woman owns land in Decentraland where we are designing and building an art gallery (plots 137, -6 and 138, -6 – go check them out). The gallery will display Yasmin’s art (including other collections) but will also display the work of other new and upcoming artists to help them gain exposure like Yasmin has recently been able to do. The gallery will exhibit primarily female artists and will include various collaborations with each other, and with Yasmin. Artists will be able to sell their NFT art from the gallery or use the gallery to direct people to their chosen marketplace.
The gallery will also hold regular exhibitions and events where exclusive collections and artists will be able to unveil their work (whether they be showcasing physical art or NFT art). Holding a YOTW NFT will give you free 1 ticket per NFT to all events held at the gallery (including exclusive painting sessions by Yasmin, classes, and seminars). This will also mean holders can get access to releases and collections of various artists at these events before the public.
We are developing partnerships with Blockchain Fashion projects and we will hold combined fashion and art events at the gallery for holders.
Metaverse Wearables
The only merchandise planned at this stage will be wearables of your YOTW that can be worn by you in the metaverse. These will include clothing with your art on it, but also other wearable items.
